I love the beginning process of making pots, taking a pug of clay and wondering what it’ll turn up as. The smell of the clay, the feel of it’s yielding, the beauty of its raw form- I think raw clay is as beautiful as the end piece. This is when I connect most with the work, as opposed to the glazing process. Creating the form, or allowing the clay to tell me what it wants to be, is a conversation. I feel my most creative and open in this moment. These photos are at the studio, works in progress.
